December 2017—NCCCO CEO Graham Brent addressed delegates at two conferences in October in conjunction with World Standards Week 2017. Held two weeks apart in Washington DC and in Singapore, the conferences were designed to highlight the manner in which properly developed standards could reduce risk in the workplace while at the same time promoting innovation.
Brent’s presentation, Construction Risk Mitigation Through Conformity Assessment, focused on the impact CCO certification had had on reducing crane accidents and improving risk mitigation. “It was a privilege and an honor to be representing the certification community at this prestigious international event,” said Brent. “Developed correctly, and implemented appropriately, standards can both save lives and change lives for the better. In a nutshell, that is NCCCO’s 20-year story.”
