August 10, 2023—As CCO moves into the digital age of testing, we are pleased to offer exams utilizing the newest technology, the highest flexibility in scheduling and rescheduling, and nearly immediate score reporting — event online testing (EOT), online proctored testing (OPT), and test center testing (TCT) — as well as practical exams, all at the same low cost as in 2023. Candidates will benefit from the shorter timelines from application to exam scheduling to score reporting and receiving certification.
Starting January 2024, paper-pencil testing (PPT) will be available as a variance only. This means that only in very limited circumstances when test site and area restrictions prohibit all other testing modalities, PPT tests may be approved. PPT test administration timelines will remain the same. This means that sites will need to plan a month or more ahead of time to arrange for a test administration, candidates will need to be registered at least two weeks prior to the exam date and wait up to three weeks to receive their exam scores.
While PPT had been discounted in the past, as it moves to a variance-only modality the discounts will be removed beginning January 1, 2024.
